This will be a historical event that left global economies in tatters. I had read the book and found it quite interesting. This is a condensed version of those days leading to the 2008 finacial collapse but very well done.

I watched this primarily for the amazing cast and I wanted to learn a bit more about the '08 crises. I have lost count how many times I've watched this movie. This movie provides a nice base for learning about banks the Federal Reserve and the housing market.

I teach accounting at a community college. I plan on showing this film for every one of my classes. Although the movie is more about economics rather than accounting it shows how big business can affect the entire nation.

this film at the same time disgusted me, scared me, entertained me and informed me - the creative storytelling and unbiased view of what happened behind the scenes during a peak in the economic crisis of the USA was powerful! What struck me was how short-sighted all those involved were, making decisions that seem to be for quick wins versus root cause/long-term fixes. I hope politicians and financial gurus we rely on in the country watched this and learned what not to do. This is something everyone should watch to be better informed, to be able to ask better questions and hold our leaders accountable. I am a Republican and I thought it was unbiased and informative - unfortunately, it was what was happening and hopefully a learning experience NOT to be repeated. Thank you HBO for the insight and to the actors who portrayed the roles honestly!

Once released, I intend to order a number of copies to give as gifts to business clients. This movie was entertaining, but its impact was because it really happened. You could feel the tension and the desire to avoid collapse. I greatly appreciated the movie pretty much slamming all the politicians and not blaming just one party. It made clear that the TARP funds were absolutely necessary to avoid a much worse disaster than was suffered.

This is totally absorbing. You will want to watch it more than once. It is all true and details the actual happenings of the economic crisis which has affected us all. It is like being a fly on the wall. You are given the inside scoop on how all the negotiations went down and you see how the power brokers we heard about in the news day after day reacted to the problems and what people like Paulson and Bernanke really had to deal with. I was amazed by this film. Andrew Ross Sorkin did an unbelievable job of capturing what actually happened during this turbulent time.
