Academy Award® winner Frances McDormand (Fargo, North Country) and Academy Award® nominee Richard Jenkins (The Visitor, Six Feet Under) star in the four-part HBO Miniseries drama Olive Kitteridge, a film by Academy Award®-nominated director Lisa Cholodenko (The Kids Are All Right, Laurel Canyon). Based on Elizabeth Strout's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name and written by Emmy®-winner Jane Anderson (The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom, Normal), Olive Kitteridge tells the poignantly sweet, acerbically funny, and devastatingly tragic story of a seemingly placid New England town wrought with illicit affairs, crime and tragedy, told through the lens of Olive (McDormand), whose wicked wit and harsh demeanor mask a warm but troubled heart and staunch moral center. The story, which spans 25 years, focuses on Olive, a middle-school math teacher, and her relationships with her husband Henry (Jenkins), the good-hearted town pharmacist, their son Christopher, who chafes at his mother's parenting style, and other denizens of their community.

Honor to a great book

Pros

    Cons

      Best Uses

First I read the book, then I was cast for role of a TSA office at JFK airport (first ever speaking role in a TV show/miniseries), but most importantly, to see the brilliance and amazing "final product" that Lisa Cholodenko, Frances McDormand, Richard Jenkins and everyone in the production of this miniseries put in order to honor what Elizabeth Strout wrote was simply superb.
I have watched it several time, and of course, I am biased, because I was in the miniseries, but it is a magnificent miniseries with great performances, superb direction, lovely music score, and the details involved in every single scene is to delight any audience.
That's all I'm going to say, and eternally thankful for the opportunity.

A story so deserving of Frances McDormand! She brings Olive and the small town to life! Masterfully cast and produced!
