Well the first go I had at purchasing this was a total flop. I ordered a couple things and the other was just fine, beautiful even, but my first dragons egg necklace was deformed. The bail was bent and it was just evidence of cheap manufacturing, and poor quality control. So I sent it back in and got another and I really really like it. I'm all about getting my money's worth but this really shouldn't be as expensive as it is... Considering the egg itself, as well as the chain are not made of any precious metals, its brass by the way, and the manufacturing costs are dismal, this shouldn't be so pricey. Not really liking that aspect but eh I guess you pay for the HBO name as well. It's nice quality, but the chain is way too short though; it shouldn't be a choker, it needs to be hanging right over your heart for the proportions to be right. Overall I really like it because I love GoT and Daenerys so this purchase is totally worth it. P.S. The brass has a funky scent... like pennies or blood or something, its just the metal though and I'm sure with wear it'll fade over time.

Even though the necklace was a bit "pricey", when I saw it, felt it, put it on...
I knew it was extra special. It feels so different than other jewelry - maybe
it's really from Westeros! The coloring is unique, the weight is perfect, it's
easy to clasp (& secure). Can be worn with shorts or a formal - it is so very
special. Highly recommended - spend the $ - it is well worth it - you'll see.

This necklace is so pretty. It's a decent weight too, so it doesn't feel odd around my neck. I've got complimented on it several times. I love it and wear it every day. I love my dragon egg.

Now that I've worn my Dragon's Egg necklace daily for a few weeks straight, I feel more able to review properly. I'm quite pleased with all my HBO shop orders which were timely and accurate.

Pros: The Dragon's Egg pendant itself is completely beautiful. I love the rustic, somewhat aged, bronze appearance and so do all my friends and fellow fans who've seen it. Not once has it been mistaken for a pine cone or pineapple but is frequently recognized for what it is. I normally wear longer necklaces since I prefer them and have a long neck (makes sense), but I like the medium-short length of the chain that hits well-above the chest and seems appropriate for unisex use (I am a woman but I can see men wearing this as well). I didn't like the silver look of the chain when it first came, but it tarnishes into a more matching bronzed look without seeming dirty. A polishing cloth removes it for those who like the original style. It's easy to switch out the chain for a leather/Dothraki look or any other match thanks to a decent-sized, but not distracting, loop. The weight to the piece truly makes it special, as though your dragon could hatch at any moment. The size of the pendant is nicely balanced to be noticeable but versatile for evening or everyday wear.

Cons: While I grew to like the more tarnished, time-warn look my chain eventually took on, it is nothing like the longer/bronze one pictured. While easily replaced with a preferred personal style, for the rather high price there should be options as to what chain we get. I have somewhat sensitive skin which was irritated at first by the chain, it calmed down with a shower and now I have no problem.

Over All: Highly recommended for yourself or a gift. The piece really does feel unique and special. It's a subtle but beautiful thing for any potential Mother (or Father) of Dragons!

The dragon egg pendant looks really good - even better than the picture shown in this website. The chain is okay. I really liked it at first even though the color is different from the dragon egg. I liked that it has a darker finish too. The length and the thickness of the chain is just right with the size of the dragon egg. The chain goes well with the pendant. However, it does leave some dark lines to my neck and chest after I take it off.

Be careful! It's small, expensive, and doesn't exactly match the description, which seems to be a running theme with HBO's Game of Thrones products (I've bought four).

Don't get me wrong, the dragon egg is beautiful. It's a bit heavy, but not uncomfortable. The dragon egg is a little smaller than 1" and yes, some people may mistake it for a pine cone or pineapple. Then again, keep in mind that not everyone is as enraptured by Game of Thrones as you are! If you didn't know about dragon eggs, what would you think one was? Still, it's a beautiful pendant.

The chain is rather short. I'm looking at buying a leather cord to replace it, since I prefer longer necklaces.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with it.

The picture of the necklace does not do it justice. when I opened the cute little "game of thrones" sack and pulled out the necklace I was actually very happy with a how beautiful it is. The egg has some weight in it, but its not bothersome its actually comforting to know it won't break if it were to drop or something. I would definetly recommend this to any Daenerys fan out there heck my fiance almost wanted to take it for himself lol!

This was so disappointing. It looked promising on the site but it's the size of a jellybean and looks like a pineapple— not a dragon egg.
Beware all those who are into RR Martin and Game of Thrones.
I'm going to return it.

I really hoped the linen pouch with 'Game of Thrones' printed on it would be perfect as the gift bag and to re-use and it was dirty and really badly printed - all faded and smudged unfortunately

The description claims the pendant is 2" when in actuallity it is only 1". It doesn't seem to be worth the money. I called the HBO store about the descrepency in the description but they haven't corrected it.
