Bought this for my husband (along with Dragon's egg paperweight). I read a lot of reviews before ordering. Some of the negative comments seem unreasonable. It's a letter opened, so I don't think it needs to be super heavy or more detailed than it is. It opens letters, is cute, and fun to use. The only negative is that it had a tiny blob of paint where there shouldn't be paint, on the end of the handle. But I'm not bothered, it doesn't make it any less cool.

I went between this and Arya's Sword (on another retailer). I needed one more gift for my daughter, 14. She is a huge fan after hearing her father and I talking and reading the novels/watching the series. She has read the series as well and loves it. I wasn't too keen to spend $170 on the Sword, so I opted for this. Thinking it would be a nice piece for her sword collection. Boy I was wrong. This is SMALL. I have letter openers that are twice the size as this is. The handle feels very very fragile. Shipping took well over two weeks. If it would have gotten here sooner, I'd have had the time to order Arya's Sword instead. Alas, we are stuck with it. It's nice, don't get me wrong. But pay attention to the weight - I didn't see that when I was looking initially or that would have sealed the deal for me. The weight is listed as .05 - and boy is it accurate. I just can't get over how small this is compared to my other letter openers. I hope she likes it; well, I know she will. I just wish I'd have paid more attention to the other reviews when they said "small", "not detailed", etc. It's nice, though. Just way too small.

Though the quality of this product is not high, it was all that was available and is reasonably priced for its quality. Because there are no other Game of Thrones letter openers available, I would recommend this to a friend.

Works great as a letter opener but lacks detail where it is needed: the hilt. As a generic sword to promote the TV show it still works. Hope to see more sword letter openers in the future that correspond to individual characters like John Snow.

A functional letter opener, but not a very memorable memento. It's simple in design, and the only thing that ties it to Game of Thrones is the logo on the blade. It doesn't bear any resemblance to the swords in the series and is very ordinary.

The hilt is painted and looks rather cheap; I think I would be happier with it if it were made from a piece of rawhide.

The sword look great, but the pouch was damaged in the shipping, everything the sword and the mousepad, was thorn in my mailbox. The printing on the pouch was damaged. tough it was send in a box.

Wasn't as awesome as I had hoped. For true fans of the series, it should have said "ICE" somewhere on it. Could have had better detail work, kind of plain.

This is a workable letter opener,albeit very small. It is overpriced for what it is, but fine as a memento of the show if you don't expect too much. It's in the same class as a magnet, only you can actually put it to use opening your bills and Christmas cards.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my brother who loves desk stuff. It's detailed enough and fun but the handle part is pretty narrow and its difficult to hold. I have fairly small hands so I imagine it would be difficult for everyone to hold. It looks cool though.

Although this is a nice little piece for any GAME OF THRONES fan, I was disappointed in the packaging. The little bag was a nice addition, but a proper box (at no extra charge) would have been nice. When I open the package, the sword slipped out of the bag and was just floating around in the delivery package like it had been flung in there.

This is now used as a letter opener and it works incredibly well. This is the first product that I received from the HBO Shop that did not have an issue. This pleased me in and of itself.

Warning: This is not real Valyrian steel. Far from it. Nor is it an exact replica of the numerous swords used in the show and novels (Ice, Needle, Oathkeeper, etc.). Try again HBO. Try again.
