Taking Chance DVD

I think that this is Kevin Bacon's best film ever. He gives and shows the proper respect to a fallen hero. If the movie doesn't touch your heart, than you don't have one. It is difficult to watch, but well worth the time and tears.

This is an engaging movie. I especially show this on Memorial day weekend. As a retired Marine Officer, who participated in a Virt Nam era burial at Arlington National Cemetary as the officer in charg of the detail; the hardest thing I have ever done was to present the Flag to the Widow. This is a movie that a man can cry at and be proud of crying.

Excellent "behind-the-scenes" glimpse into a side of the military that we civilians never see or hear about. Gives the word, honor, new meaning. Highly recommend this DVD.

This was highly recommended by a friend. The film is emotionally moving and shows the dedication our military gives to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. I am grateful we purchased it so we can share it with others!

The song selection for this movie was supurb. This CD reflects well of the time and the circumstance. The CD is as powerful as the movie. Listening to this brings back the scenes of the movie quite clearly. Purchase the movie/cd combo pack. They are a must to own!

Many years ago I ended my relationship with HBO due to the incredible amount of horrible programming. This movie made a deep impression on my. Thank you for letting this one through you filters.

Touching, poignant and tells a story many will never understand. All Americans should watch this film with a Service Member...then maybe next time you'll think a minute and understand that every one of them is Americas son or daughter. And we all grieve for the loss of a single one of them.

What military families fear and deal with on a daily basis. Accurate every minute and in every detail. I have watched it multiple times and am moved to tears each time. No family should have to go through this but if they must, it should be a source of pride and honor to know that the Marine Corps takes such outstanding care of those who die serving our country.

This can be a reflection and a reminder of the price our service personnel paid for our freedom.

It's important to show how americans really feel about the ultimate sacrifice some are making for us.

The added extensive features reaally expanded the storyline

My only son is serving in the Army. It has been viewed by many military families that I know. This movie shows the most respect that I've ever seen our military and their families receive.

I am a former Marine Officer (ended 1983) I found the movie quite interesting and entertaining. Accurate as well. I am very liberal, by the way, even though a former marine. While every casualty of war or conflict is not necessarily a hero, the human aspect of a loss is moving. This movie protrays that in an exceptional way.

During these times of question and uncertainty across the country, this film will challenge you to return to the very essence and marrow of our roots in American Patriotism, pride, and unity, while bringing home the true reality of the ultimate sacrifice being made by our young men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The respect and dignity afforded our fallen hero by all who encounter him along his journey home is 100% believable while at the same time utterly remarkable and reminiscent of a time when our national unity and community was a certainty we all shared and which bonded us as a people and a nation.

WATCH THIS FILM...it is guaranteed to restore your faith in OUR America.

This movie shows how the sum of small acts of kindness really adds up to make a difference. The kindness shown by all to this fallen Marine surely doesn't come close to the sacrfice he made but it did show that many Americans still remember those type of sacrifices and honor them appropriately. Let's hope we honor all the Chance Phelps in this country!

Taking Chance captures both the emotion and the business of returning a fallen soldier to his loved ones. Kevin Bacon's best performance. The viewer will only be impressed by the respect shown to those giving the last full measure of devotion.

If you can watch this movie without feeling pride in the U.S.A. and our service people, you are no doubt a liberal and this movie would not interest you anyway.
Probably one of the 5 best movies I have ever seen.

Any one who has had family or friends in the military, and want to know how our fallen hero's are treated when brought home. This a must watch

What a powerful and emotional film.

The story is even too simple but unexpected events happens. "Common" people share same sensations and sentiments.

This showed the price of war, without making a judgement on the value of war. Hard not to cry.
